We have just returned from the 62nd edition of Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Sustainability was a key feature again this year and many of our brands took this to the extreme by either not attending the Rho-Fiero fairground at all or to only exhibit in their existing Milan showrooms.
This made the visit to the fair less overwhelming than usual, as we were able to concentrate on a few key brands, knowing that we would then catch up on all the newness of the Scandi brands at the ever popular 3 Days of Design in June in Copenhagen.

As usual, the Knoll stand was stunning with some lovely new pieces and updates to existing collections to make them even more relevant for today's interiors.
The new black, white and red finish on the Wasilly chairs, Laccio tables and a few other pieces are going to be very popular.
The re-release of the Tugendhat lounge chair was a lovely surprise after all these years and wow was it comfortable. Probably one of the most comfortable lounge chairs we have ever sat on, and of course even more stunning to look at.
Originally designed by Mies van der Rohe (in collaboration with Lilly Reich) back in 1929 back in for Villa Tugendhat in Brno, Czechoslovakia it is so good to have this piece commercially available to buy again. It is available in fabric or leather and with and without armrests. More details to follow.

3 flos spaces
Flos Inspiration
This year Flos had 3 inspiring spaces to visit. Luckily they were close together and the Palazzo Visconti was definitely worth the wait with some stunning new lighting creations by Michael Anastassiades, Barber Osgerby and Formafantasma sitting alongside some Castiglioni classics.
It was great to get a personal insight into the worlds of these iconic designers too via a very cleverly scripted film that was playing in one of the magnificent rooms.

Artistic Director Piero Lissoni launched 3 new pieces. The Dambodue sofa and the Isos and Assiale tables.
Naoto Fukasawa launched his organic Omoi armchair and Monica Armani added to the Allure O'Dot table collection.
New fabrics and finishes were also launched including a new seat stitching effect on the Charles sofa.
The PAB and Flat-C shelving systems and the Diesis sofa also received some new finishes.

Margrethe Odgaard's new textiles Re-wool 2 and Azure Outdoor were launched alongside Serpentine in a new #coloureffects installation that explores the sensory and emotional impact of colours.
New rugs by Ronan Bouroullec and their innovative Really desk material that uses recycled textiles was also displayed.
Finally, the 2024 Sahco collections were also launched.

Our friends at Fantin have been busy with new updates to the Frame monobloc free standing metal kitchens, new Hug coat stands, new Wave collection of mini wall hung desks / dressing tables and shelves, and a stunning new Frame canopy bed.
Not to mention the launch of new colours in both standard and metallic finishes for both indoor and outdoor use. They also had a Vintage stainless steel finish on the Barazza outdoor hot plate.
